This year more than 264 sites around the state of Vermont will partake
in the 16th Annual Open Studio Weekend Tour on May 24th and 25th
from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.
The event, sponsored by the Vermont Crafts Council, focuses on the educational
aspect of each artist’s craft or talent,
with demonstrations of the work that they do, and is free to the public.
Two of the artists participating in the tour this year Skip Morrow and
Ann Coleman presently have their artwork on display in our inn,
and we will have maps available to anyone wishing to take the tour.
An accomplished pastel and watercolor artist
as well as photographer, Ann Coleman started to develop her creative
talents as a child, doing commissioned works before graduating high
school. Her secondary education included study in Austria at Salzburg
College and the Salzburg Art Academy, graduating from Skidmore College
with a BS in Studio Art. She has displayed her work throughout the eastern
U.S. Ann lives on a dirt road along the southern border of Vermont where
she nurtures flowers, feeds birds, gazes at the stars and fills blank
sheets of paper with beautiful colors and images. In August of 2007
she fulfilled a long time dream of opening her own gallery. This will
be one the dazzling stops on this years Vermont Open studio Tours
