Here in southern Vermont we are blessed with many fine championship golf courses.Close by are the Mount Snow & Haystack courses. Stratton mountain has it's own spectacular links and both Brattleboro and Bennington provide us with another 2 courses, to complete a full week of golf. We can book your tee-times for you.

Boating of all types

Less than a mile from the inn is the largest body of water wholly within the state of Vermont. Lake Whitingham aka the Harriman reservoir allows most types of boats whether you own one or need to rent from High Country rentals .For the passive boater or just plain sightseer, we have the Green Mtn Flagship scenic cruise of the 8 mile long lake with over 28 miles of beautiful unspoiled shoreline.

With concerts from Mid July thru Mid August 2008 there are many performances to enjoy. The Red Shutter Inn can accomodate your meal times to suit music schedules and arrange taxis if required to & from the venue.For over five decades, Marlboro College has presented generations of the world’s musical leaders in collaborative performances on the hilltop campus of Marlboro College. We are located less than 15 minutes from these world famous concerts.Space is limited due to overwhelming support, so book early.

The Mount Snow Valley is ready and waiting with paths,trails and mountains to suit your mood. The mix of hiking and walking options includes terrain in the Green Mountain National Forest, Vermont State Parks and trails on private property.From hiking sections of the renowned Appalachian Trail to frolicking along a garden path with your infant. Vermont is a wonderful place to hike and explore, and offers miles of woodland walks, hikes and trails in every region of the state.

Mount Snow is the mountain bike capital of the East, offering lift access thru Columbus Day Weekend! Take a spin down an unpaved, solitary country road. Ride the chairlift to the summit of Mount Snow and let gravity do its thing as you descend portions of our serpentine downhill and NORBA-sanctioned cross-country courses.

If watching Downhill racers is your passion then this summer Mount Snow hosts the Iron Horse DH series on 06/11 - 07/09 - 08/13 & Finals on 09/17

Car or Motorcycle touring

Touring Vermont by car or motorcycle in spring, summer or fall, you can enjoy some of the best scenery in New England. From covered bridges thru country lanes to scenic mountain drives.We can offer tours for two or as many as your group may be, car clubs, special marques, motorcycle groups.For the real 'car nuts' a visit to the Hemmings Motor Museum is a must.Enjoy a day driving or riding through the magnificent Green Mountains, then return for a relaxing dinner in our restaurant or lighter fayre in the cocktail bar.
