Susannah Walker, Executive Chef
Susannah comes to The Wilmington by
way of Dallas, TX where she established a
successful modern Italian restaurant called
DiTerras. She is no stranger to Vermont
winters however, as a graduate of the New
England Culinary Institute, in Montpelier
(class of 98'). Since then she has worked
for Chef Massimo Riccioli in Rome, Italy
where he ran La Rossetta, the oldest Michelin
star rated restaurant in Italy. In addition
Chef Walker worked in Venice for Chef and
author Antonio Buffi at Bistrot de Venise and
later at the Hotel Explora in San Pedro de
Atacama in Chile. Her specialty is game and she returned to Vermont in order to create an all local, all organic, dining experience in a location where small farms and local procurement are readily available.
ABOUT US
The Wilmington Inn was originally the personal residence of Joseph Courtemanche, a French-American entrepreneur who moved to Wilmington in 1875. He built what would become the Wilmington Inn & Tavern in 1894 on a prime lot that looked down upon the town (and consequently escaped the devastating wreckage from the flood of 1938).

Today, Innkeepers John and Rachel Pilcher are living their long-time dream of owning and running an inn while raising their family in Vermont. John, Rachel and their son Lewis moved to the area in October 2009 from New York City.
The Restaurant
The Restaurant is run by Executive Chef Susannah Walker and Sous Chef Stanton Nareau.
